Make the company wish they hired you sooner. Be specific on the job you want and what you will do for them.  Having a connection that works for your target company gives you insight into the company’s needs. For example, they make highlight the company’s challenges that you can address with your skillset. Try to connect with someone on LinkedIn that works for your desired company.

Research on the company before writing. Your values and inspirations should marry with the company’s mission, vision, and company culture.

Don’t send a generic letter of interest that can be sent to any other company. Use the right power words that will get your letter read.

The digital era has made job information requirements to be readily available. However, avoid copy-pasting work and making your resume look like 1000 more from the free templates. Personalize your own work.

While it is not unethical, it speaks of your character in case you are hired.

Keep the letter under one page. Know your key qualities and highlight them. The letter of interest should be ideally 200 words.

Avoid being vague by focusing on quantity over quality in your writing. You risk diluting the most important features. Because it is a spam email, you similarly risk irritating your prospective employer by using large chunks of texts.
