A Global Professionals scholarship is usually offered to 4-6 percent of candidates.

2. Chalmers University of Technology scholarships

Chalmers Institution of Technology is a Gothenburg-based Swedish university that focuses on technology research and education. The Chalmers University of Technology offers a scholarship in different scholarship programs. Top of the most popular scholarship opportunities are:

  • The Adlerbert Study Scholarships

International students wishing to study at Chalmers university should also, check the IPOET scholarship. The Swedish Council for Higher Education provides funding to prospective fee-paying students. Chalmers is in charge of administering and awarding the scholarships.

The applicants are chosen based on their relative academic excellence, which includes not only their weighted average grade but also the reputation of their home university (including its position on global ranking lists) and the priority order in which they applied for Chalmers Master’s programs.

Citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for Swedish university studies


A 75% reduction of the tuition fees (4 semesters/2 year programme)

Students who excel during their first year of studies may receive an increased reduction, which covers 85% of the tuition fees during the second and final year of studies

3. Dalarna University scholarships 

Another top Swedish scholarship for international students is the Dalarna university scholarship.

Each year, Dalarna University provides partial scholarships to a select group of new overseas fee-paying Master’s students who have demonstrated academic excellence.

Amount of Scholarship

The scholarships will cover between 10% and 50% of your entire tuition fees and will go straight towards a decrease in your tuition rates. Throughout your study, the cash you are given is automatically removed in specified amounts each semester.

Scholarships for new students

Tuition fee waivers are only given to students enrolled in an on-campus Master’s degree program. You only have to apply for your scholarship once, and it must be done before the start of your program.

The application period for a scholarship for the Spring 2022 intake is September 1st to September 30th, 2021

Dalarna University offers all students with outstanding academic results a reduction of their tuition fees for continued studies at Dalarna University. To qualify for this reduction of tuition fees you:

Must have studied at least one semester (Master’s level) or two semester’s (Bachelor’s level) within a degree programme at Dalarna University.

Must be continuing the same degree programme for at least one more semester of full-time study.

Must have achieved at least 50% results of VG or 5/4 depending on the grading scale used.

Must be verified as “outstanding” by the faculty in your programme.

The value of this scholarship is a 10 000 SEK tuition fee waiver for each remaining semester of full-time studies in the programme you are currently studying. Applications for this scholarship should be made no later than 3 weeks before the start of the new semester.


 4. Karolinska Institutet scholarships

The Karolinska Institutet Global Master’s Scholarships

Each Autumn semester, Karolinska Institutet awards a limited number of tuition fee scholarships to outstanding students who have been accepted into one of the Global Master’s Programmes. The number of scholarships available varies from year to year, but there is a maximum of 10 scholarships available each year, distributed throughout all Global Master’s Programs.

Who can apply?

Must be a tuition fee-paying student (from outside the EU/EEA)

Must fulfil the entry and documentation requirements for the programme you have applied for

Only first-year students are eligible to apply.

How to apply?

The application for a KI Global Master’s program is based on an objective evaluation of the applicant’s CV and qualifications, which are provided via UniversityAdmissions and reviewed in connection with the application. Individual notifications will be sent to scholarship recipients.

What the KI Global Master’s scholarship cover?

The KI Global Master’s Scholarship only covers the tuition fee (or part of the tuition fee for programmes only partially given by Karolinska Institutet). Travel, living expenses and other costs must be met with other funding. Furthermore, please note the KI Global Master’s Scholarship only covers tuition fees for students enrolled at a Global Master’s Programme here at Karolinska Institutet and cannot be used for other studies.

5. Lund University scholarships

Lund is one of the top universities in Sweden. It offers the Lund University Global Scholarship which is available to bright students from all countries outside the EU/EEA. Students who have made a complete application for a degree programme are invited to apply for this tuition scholarship after the admissions application period has closed.
