About the Award Reference

The eFounders Fellowship is a two-week training program for entrepreneurs in developing countries who run open, platform-based enterprises in the eCommerce, logistics, big data, and tourism sectors. The workshop will expose participants to and educate them on eCommerce innovations from China and throughout the world that have enabled growth and a more inclusive development model for all.

The eFounders Fellowship program gives you firsthand experience with eCommerce and digital technologies, as well as access to business executives from Alibaba and China, and the chance to network with like-minded, successful entrepreneurs in your area. The fellowship is a group of passionate and accomplished “New Economy Champions” who want to inspire and promote a more inclusive growth model for all.

The Alibaba Group Program 2021’s Eligibility Requirement
You must be the creator or co-founder of a legally registered digital business that has been in existence for at least two years.

Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Botswana, and South Africa are the only countries where your company can be headquartered, based, or operate.
In your application, you must include at least one referral (referrals from a partner, organizer, or eFounders Fellow are preferred).
When your official business license is sought during the application process, you MUST present it.
Entrepreneurs under the age of 35, female entrepreneurs, and residents of the target country are especially encouraged to apply.

Class 9 entrepreneurs are authentic, open-minded, and altruistic leaders of the ‘new economy,’ according to the selection criteria.
Building businesses for long-term prosperity rather than short-term profit is the goal.
Have a strong sense of purpose, integrity, vision, and drive, and are mission-driven.

Is it possible for more than one founder/co-founder from the same company to apply for the Alibaba Netpreneur training program?
In fact, a company venture’s founders or co-founders can all apply. However, due to the program’s limited capacity, each company can only send one founder/co-founder.

Is it possible for a company’s founder to send a representative to the program?
The program is for business owners, co-founders, and founders. However, if the representative is one of the company’s founders or business owners, he or she may be considered. If the company is a family business, for example, and the son or daughter is actively operating it, he or she can apply. But the representative must submit his/her own application and be interviewed in order to attend.

Where should I put my business registration on the online form?
For the online application, you do not need to upload your business registration. During the interview, you may be requested to provide a business license.

When should I arrive for the program in Hangzhou? When do you think I’ll be able to leave Hangzhou after the program?
To be honest, you’ll have to check into the hotel on March 15, 2021. The program, however, will begin on March 16th in the morning (Monday). Also, on February 25th, around 21:00 pm, the program would come to an end. As a result, the earliest you can leave Hangzhou is on March 25th evening.
