5 Easiest Countries to Get a Student Visa

Canada is another popular destination for international postgraduate study, not only for the number of universities that rank highly but also for a relatively straightforward and welcoming visa procedure.

International students in Canada need to apply for two kinds of permits:

• The study permit which allows you to study at a university. This, however, is not a visa and does not allow you entry into the country.
• A visitor visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA) which allows you to enter the country. If you are applying for a study permit, the Canadian embassy or consulate will automatically issue an eTA for you. You need to provide proof of: acceptance into a Canadian university: identity; and financial support to make an application. The Canadian Government has a list of required documents. The student permit carries a fee of CAD $150 (US $109) and students belonging to certain countries can apply within the Student Direct Stream which reduces the processing times to 20 calendar days from the usual 13 weeks if you are applying from outside Canada.

A Canadian study permit is valid for the duration of your course plus 90 days. You can work on-campus without restriction and off-campus for 20 hours per week (with no limit during holidays).

United Kingdom

Even though the UK used to be strict with visas, it has recently started welcoming international students. Getting a student visa to study in the UK is not very difficult. This means that international students who have completed their undergraduate studies can pursue further education at some of the top universities in the world. They can also experience the rich and diverse culture of the UK.

You have to get a student visa for the UK that is valid for as long as your course. To apply, you need to have received a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS). Based on the new points system, you will need to show that you have enough money and meet the English language requirements. The visa has a cost that varies depending on where you apply from. During the time when school is in session, you are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week on the student visa in the UK. However, there are no restrictions on the number of hours you can work during breaks and vacations. After you finish your course, you can request the new Graduate visa. This visa allows you to work for two years after your studies.

United States

The US is a popular place for studying abroad because it has prestigious universities like the Ivy League. Many international students apply to and go to university in the USA, so getting a visa is not difficult.

If you want to study in the US, you have to apply for a special student visa called Type F. This visa can be used for a maximum of five years.

To get a Type F student visa, you must have been accepted to an approved school and be registered with SEVIS.
Before your visa interview, you need to have a Form I-20, a completed Form DS-160, and all the necessary documents. Don’t worry, it might seem hard at first, but once you agree to study at a university, they will assist you in getting registered with SEVIS. After that, it’s just a matter of filling out some forms.
