Master of Science in Psychology (online) Admission Requirements

To complete the M.S. in the Psychology application process, you must submit the following:

  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited academic institution, or an internationally recognized institution.
    Applicants must have at least a 2.5 GPA to be admitted. To be competitive, students should have at least a 2.75 GPA. Less competitive students may wish to submit GRE scores as well.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Resume including employment and other significant volunteer history.
  • Written statement of intent (indicating how your goals align with the goals of the program.)
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores (where applicable.)

Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology Admission Requirements

To complete the Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology application process, you must submit the following:

  • Application for Admission.
  • Three Recommendations, at least two of which must be academic in nature; template found here.
  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
  • Essays (see Application for Admission).
  • Current Curriculum Vitae or Resume, inclusive of work/employment history.
  • Official GRE general test scores (DMU school code 5639) within the past five years. (The GRE score is required of all applicants;  no preferred minimum score has been established for admission to the program.)
  • Non-refundable $55 application fee.

Interviews

  • After all paperwork listed above is submitted, competitive applicants will be invited to interview on-site with a number of Psy.D. faculty. The on campus interviews are required for admission to the Psy.D. program.

Divine Mercy University Scholarships

The following scholarship opportunities are for new and current students applying to any DMU program.

Newman Scholarship – up to $5,000 

This award is for students who have graduated from a Cardinal Newman Society-approved institution or university and are starting a new program of study. Check to see if the Cardinal Newman Society has endorsed your school. HERE.

The Diversity Scholarship – up to $3,000

This grant is available to existing DMU students as well as those who are starting a new program of study. The diversity scholarship’s goal is to increase cultural, socioeconomic, and ethnic variety among our students. It is given to those who best represent the Diversity Scholarship’s mission.

Psy.D. and M.S. in Counseling Scholarship – up to 50% scholarship

This grant is for students starting a new program of study and applying for admission to either the Psy.D or M.S. in Counseling programs. There are a limited number of these scholarships available, and they are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

St. Martin DePorres Scholarship—$1000

This award is available to students who are applying to or are currently enrolled in the Psy.D. program. Each year, there is just one grant available. Please check with the Financial Aid office before applying, as this scholarship may have already been awarded for the year.

International Student Scholarship – up to $5,000

This is a need-based grant for students who meet the criteria to be deemed international students and are enrolling in a new program of study at DMU.
