1. Istanbul University

This is the first on our list of the best law schools in Turkey for international students. The predecessors of the Law School, Mekteb-i Maarif-i Adliye and Mekteb-i Ulûm- Edebiye, which eventually created the Faculty of Law in 1924, date back to 1839. There are 15 departments in the faculty of law, which is currently housed on the Beyazt Central Campus. Turkey’s top law school is considered to be Istanbul University Faculty of Law.
They provide a law undergraduate degree, and accepted candidates must have finished elementary and secondary school as well as achieved the minimum score on the Centralized University Entrance Examination. Only 20 students are admitted yearly for the international double-degree program offered in conjunction with the University of Hamburg, which confers a Bachelor of Laws diploma from each institution. There are seven programs available for their master’s degree: private law, public law, commercial law, civil law, international private law, financial law, and real estate and construction law without a thesis.
2. Ankara University

Ankara University Faculty of Law, founded in 1925 during the Republic Period, is regarded as Turkey’s first law school. Mahmut Esat Bozkurt, who was at the time the Minister of Justice, formed it in response to the Republic’s proposed law reform, which called for the hiring of more lawyers. The institution continues to uphold its heritage today on the Ankara University Cebeci Campus. This is the third on our list of the best law schools in Turkey for international students. Another prestigious law school in Turkey, the Anadolu University Faculty of Law, was founded in 1993. The Law School currently has two departments for private law and public law, 60 professors, and 1742 students. Their law school graduates pursue careers as judges, prosecutors, legal advisers, and attorneys in both private and public law.
They especially invite international students to their program. To be accepted into the program, candidates must pass each course in the curriculum, finish at least 240 ECTS credits, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.00. International law, criminal law, legal history, legal philosophy, tax law, and constitutional law are among the subjects covered in public law courses. It addresses civil law, the law of obligations, company law, partnership law, law governing negotiable instruments, property law, inheritance law, enforcement-bankruptcy law, and labor law for the Private Law Department.
4. Bilkent University

The Faculty of Law at.D. Bilkent University was established in the academic year 2002 with 140 students, and its first law graduates graduated in the class of 2006. In terms of their postgraduate programs, they began offering the Master’s in Law and Economics in 2008 and the first Ph.D. programs in 2011. Today, it continues to produce lawyers skilled in both Turkish law and international law. Additionally, law students have the chance to compete in events like The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Competition, where Bilkent University became the first law school in Turkey to earn an honor.
Turkish is the language of instruction for courses on Turkish law, whereas English is the language of instruction for courses on international law. The master’s degrees available include the LL.M. in Private Law, LL.M. in Public Law, and an LL.M. in Law and Economics with a non-thesis program. Application requirements for the LL.M. programs include a bachelor’s degree, an ALES (Equally Weighted) score of 55, and evidence of English language ability. Both a Ph.D. in Public Law and a Ph.D. in Private Law are available. ALES (Equally Weighted) 55, a bachelor’s and master’s degree, and evidence of English language competency are requirements for students to be eligible for a Ph.D.
5. Hacettepe University

Hacettepe University Law School marks the conclusion of our ranking of the best law schools in Turkey for international students. In the academic year 2012–2013, the university began its bachelor’s program, and its first class of graduates graduated in 2016. The proposal to establish the Faculty of Law was initially made in 2002. Currently, it is situated on the Beytepe Campus. The Law School belongs to a number of international associations, including the Legal Framework for the Information Society and the International Law Faculties Association. Universities both in Turkey and abroad provide exchange programs.
A 240 ECTS full-time bachelor’s program is available from the Law School. Students must earn at least 150 credits and a minimum grade point average of 2.00 to be eligible for the degree. Information law, economy and energy law, public law, and private law are the four master’s degree programs. With the university’s full-time Ph.D. in Public Law and Ph.D. in Private Law, students can deepen their study. For both degrees, students must finish a minimum of eight courses, ace the doctorate exams, and submit their theses.
